We are extremely lucky to have a dedicated site in partnership with our game. Witan LARP is kindly hosted by Welton Waters Adventure Centre in Hull.
Welton Waters Adventure Centre is a live centre with lots of activities on for the public during weekends. The Witan game has exclusive use of the woodland next to the main centre, this area is gated and sealed with a padlock so there will be no public access to the Witan main camp or combat areas.
However, any use of the facilities within the main building such as toilets, showers or the crew room will possibly see you coming into contact with the public engaging in activities. Once the Adventure Centre is closed for the day, only Witan attendees will be on site.
The Adventure Centre has a cafe on site open for breakfast, drinks, cakes and snacks during the morning. Please check with a member of Game team to ask if the cafe is open on Sundays.
Yes, it's true, Witan has boats. Certain parts of the game may offer you the opportunity to board a boat and cross the lake to visit a different part of the site for story reasons. This will always be optional for players, and we will provide alternative encounters for those who do not wish to engage with any kind of sailing shenanigans.
Any players on the water will be required to wear the appropriate safety gear and floatation devices over their kit (provided by the Adventure Centre). Players on boats will always be accompanied by our trained Game team member (who is also a member of staff at the Adventure Centre), Jimmy.

Directions (from the Centre's website): From the A63, East or West, you will need to come off at the junction signposted for Welton, Elloughton & Brough.
From the East side follow the road to the roundabout, from the West side follow the road round so that you go back over the A63 and down to the roundabout. At the roundabout follow the sign for Brough, at the next roundabout take the first left onto Moor Road, at the next roundabout go straight on you will then go over the railway bridge.
At the next roundabout (Aldi roundabout) take the first left onto Blenheim Avenue (this is the new housing estate), follow the road through the housing estate – stay on this road, it does look like you are going onto a building site.
You will come to some metal fencing and a “Road Closed” sign you will then see a diversion sign to turn right, this is putting you on Common Lane. Follow the lane and you will see the centre, a red brick building on your right.
