Previous gatherings of the Witan have achieved much during their time together. Below is a quick summary of the main points from each event.
Location: Welton Waters
Eorl Bananson of Scardeburg called together a national Witan, summoning those who might help with healing the ailing King Edgar.
The Ylfe looked to sow confusion and terror, attacking from the shadows.
Bandits stalked the land, looking to prey on the weak.
The undead forms of past heroes rose from the dead, followers of the Path of Saints who had sought out sainthood. These souls were permanently destroyed by the Witanfolk with a ritualised blade.
A monstrous Redcap was created by the Ylfe with dark magics. The creature was subsequently hunted down and slain by the Witan at great personal cost.
The leader of the mysterious Hounds of Annwn approached the Witan to make a deal. A terrifying friend or dangerous foe. Either way, the druid grove of the Witan now owes her a sacrifice.
The Witan battle through Ylfe forces to retrieve a Reliquary containing the fingerbones of Saint Ælfwine. This is believed to be a vital component in successfully healing the King.
Quiet consultation with the Weaver confirms that the next vital clue is hidden within the caves underneath Tig Gucobauc. The Witan agrees to travel there in the Spring.
Location: Tig Gucobauc
The Witan meets outside the city of Tig Gucobauc, with intention to gain access to the sealed caves which are sacred to the Weaver. They are joined by renowned seer Eorl Mildgyd Eadburga of Tig Gucobauc, who gives them information about the local area.
Caina, leader of the Hounds of Annwn, returns to collect on the deal. The druids of the Witan try to negotiate, and promise her a member of their own to hunt. She agrees to return once they have made their preparations.
Eorl Caerwyn of St Justine-Pentith arrives at the Witan and engages with the folk there. Druids create a bad impression. Druids and their practices are later outlawed from his lands.
Ylfe continue to harass the folk of the Witan. They steal a baby. In addition, cave goblins roam the paths at night, looking to feast upon flesh.
A diary is discovered, which eventually leads to the opening of the caves under Tig Gucobauc. Unfortunately the owner of the diary, Michael, is found to be murdered. The Witanfolk vow to return the diary to his partner, Lucas.
The diary entries reveal the existence of an odd follower of the Weaver named Cian, who sought to open the caves himself but was thwarted by Michael.
Archdruid Ceolmund from the Grove of Oak and Holly visits the camp to speak to Ruadhán, and seems to be aware of Caina.
The druids of the Witan perform multiple rituals to empower one of their own with various animal aspects in order to survive being hunted by Caina. As a result this druid chooses to join Caina instead, and become one of the hunters. She considers the deal satisfied.
Investigation is done into Ruadhán's past and his apparent connection to the Hounds of Annwn. Truths begin to be revealed.
The Reliquary containing the fingerbones of Saint Ælfwine is stolen and taken to an island where a terrible undead Barrow-King resides. After having already made an oath to let the Barrow-King slumber in peace, the Witan are forced to immediately break that oath to retrieve the bones.
After completing many trials within the caves under Tig Gucobauc, the Witanfolk finally retrieve a sacred item of the Weaver - an ancient loom shuttle. This item is another component in healing the King.
The Witan discuss their options and choose to travel next to Wales, specifically to deal with a Troll who is ravaging the land.
